Being under intense pressure, Saudi Arabian officials have warned against holding the 'Disavowal of Pagans' rally in Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca. Iranian people still remember the ۱۹۸۷ brutal massacre of Iranian pilgrims by Saudi forces. More than ۴۰۰ pilgrims from Iran, Palestine, Pakistan and Iraq were martyred in that bitter incident which was ordered by the headsmen who called themselves the 'servants of two holly Shrines'. In his remarks on that antihuman crime Imam Khomeini said that incident would never be forgotten.
By announcing the 'Disavowal of Pagans' ritual which is an anti-Imperialistic rally during Hajj pilgrimage, Imam Khomeini revived the Ibrahimi Hajj. The current uprisings in Muslim world have been the fruit of this revival.
The toppling of some US backed puppet regimes in the region has given a specific importance to this year's 'Disavowal of Pagans' rally, and the Saudi kingdom is very concerned about the possible outcomes of this rally.
In a new plot against Iran, the US government alleged that Iran had intended to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to Washington through a hit man from the Mexican drug cartel! Promptly after making this false accusation against Iran, Mecca governor warned against any riot during the season of Hajj.
So, it's clear that one of the reasons behind the staging of this scenario is to overshadow the 'Disavowal of Pagans' rally in the coming Hajj pilgrimage. While most countries and even some American politicians have cast doubt on the US claim, Saudi authorities accepted it blindly without seeking any evidence, and took a hostile stance against Iran. Saudi Fm, Saud ll-Faisal, condemned the alleged plot and said Iran must pay for it. At the same time, Mecca governor Khalid al Faisal warned against any unrest in the city during the Hajj season. It seems that the US fabricated scenario against Iran has been staged to divert the Muslim attentions from Saudi oppressors and overshadow the 'Disavowal of Pagans' rally, preventing any demonstration which may be participated by a plethora of pilgrims inside Saudi territory. Suffering social crisis, Saudi officials fear such rally will lead to their downfall.
But they must note that the Arab revolution domino will reach to their kingdom sooner or later, and they can't prevent it by such plots. Their destiny is no different from that of Mobarak, Gaddafi and Ben Ali.
